FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW LONG DO THE EYELASH EXTENSIONS LAST FOR?

Eyelash extensions last anywhere from 2-3 weeks depending upon how well you take care of the lashes and how slow or fast your natural lash shed/growth cycle is. The average person loses anywhere form 2-5 natural lashes per day, which is why fills are required during that specific time frame.

To better explain why fills are necessary say that you have 200 natural lashes and you lose 5 lashes per day, after 3 weeks you will have lost over 50% of your lashes (105 natural lashes) which is why you would need a fill either before 3 weeks or right at the 3 week mark. During the time away from your lash artist your lashes are not only shedding, but also naturally growing! With growth comes lashes that may twist. Why you might ask? Well, at the appointment the extension is placed on the base of your natural lashes and once your natural lashes start growing the extension does as well. With that being said, if that lash hasn't shed by the time of your appointment the extension could potentially be at the tip of your natural lash instead of the base. When the eyelash extension is on the tip of your natural lash it can cause more weight and strain on your lash equalling that pesky lash that keeps on twisting/ drooping downward.

HOW LONG ARE APPOINTMENTS?

Appointments vary in time depending upon the amount of natural lashes you have. Full sets range from 2 hours-3 hours + 30 minutes, and fills range from 45 minutes- 2 hours.

DO EYELASH EXTENSIONS HURT? I HAVE HEARD OF HORROR STORIES AND HAVE READ ARTICLES ABOUT HOW DAMAGING EYELASHES ARE.

Eyelash extensions should never hurt when applied properly and professionally by an educated artist. Unfortunately, like every service based in the beauty industry has had a bad reputation due to lesser experienced/ uneducated technicians... eyelash extensions should never hurt and are not damaging. In fact, if you go to a professional you could get eyelash extensions endlessly for years!

WHAT ALL CAN BE CUSTOMIZED IN A FULL SET?

Each set is customized to best fit you. Prior to your appointment your facial shape, brow shape, eye shape, brow structure, and even lifestyle are all taken in to account to ensure that the lashes enhance your natural beauty and not over power it. Here is what can be customized and what each customization does:

Curl: This is how tight or relaxed the eyelash extension is. Depending upon the look you are trying to achieve you an either widen the eye or relax it! The tighter the curl is the more of the eyelash extension is visible- resulting in a more open eye + bold look. The more relaxed the curl is the less of the eyelash extension is visible- resulting in a more smized + effortless look.

Length: This is how long or short the eyelash extension is. Depending upon what your natural lashes can handle you are able to make your lashes pop with length! Lux Uncut takes pride in only providing beautiful, effortless, and safe lashes. If your lashes cannot handle long eyelash extensions you may increase how tight the curl is to create an illusion of length.

Fullness: This is how many eyelash extensions are placed per natural lash. The more natural you would like your lashes to be- the lesser amount of lashes are applied per natural lash and vice versa if you'd like a more dramatic look.

Shape: This pertains to where the shorter and longer lengths are placed onto the eyelashes. The shape of a set truly dictates the illusion or look you desire. For example, if you are looking to receive a "cat eye" longer lengths are placed onto the outer lashes to achieve a more sexy look, and if you are looking to receive a "doll eye" longer lengths are placed solely on the middle lashes to achieve an illusion of larger eyes a more doe-eyed look.
